How Long Should You Wear a Compression Garment Each Day?
There is no universal number, but here are sensible guidelines.
A common question once someone has a compression garment that actually fits well: is it safe or sensible to wear it all day, every day?
For Everyday Confidence Wear
Most well-fitted compression shirts are designed for all-day wear, similar to any snug undershirt. Comfort is the practical limit — if it is genuinely comfortable, there is generally no issue wearing it through a normal day.
Give Your Skin a Break
It is reasonable to have garment-free time, particularly overnight, to let skin breathe and avoid irritation from prolonged pressure and sweat, especially in warmer climates.
Watch for These Signs
Redness that does not fade shortly after removal, persistent skin irritation, or numbness are signs to size up, take more breaks, or switch fabrics — not something to push through.
