A Buying Guide to Gynecomastia Compression Shirts: What to Look For
Compression level, fabric, and fit matter more than the brand name.

Compression shirts vary a lot more than they look like they do from a product photo. Here is what actually matters before you buy one.
Compression Level
Look specifically for shirts with reinforced or higher-compression panels built into the chest zone, rather than generic all-over shapewear. A shirt engineered specifically for chest compression will do more than a general slimming tee with even compression everywhere.
Fabric and Breathability
Nylon-spandex blends tend to hold compression longer and breathe better under daily wear than heavier cotton blends. If you plan to wear it under regular clothes all day, breathability matters as much as compression strength.
Fit and Sizing
Compression garments are one category where sizing charts genuinely matter — too loose and it does very little, too tight and it becomes uncomfortable within a few hours. Check the brand’s specific size chart rather than assuming your regular shirt size.
Discreet vs. Visible
Tanks and undershirts are built to disappear under a regular shirt for all-day wear. Vests tend to offer more coverage and compression but read more like a medical garment, and are often better suited to the gym or post-surgery recovery than daily wear under office clothes.
